Pizza Party at the Helping Hand Mission! Well, it was more like Adam ordered the pizza and we got to hang out and talk to “our kids”, as I’ve affectionately started calling them. Brianna, David, Montae and Tasia all had their second round of one-on-one interviews at the mission in the big and colorful room that after-school tutoring takes place on Tuesdays.
Every time I sit down and listen to what these four individuals have to say, I learn. They are gaining more and more of my respect as they answer questions about their family life, their struggles, the things that bring them joy and happiness; their life from day to day. It isn’t easy to sit down in front of a camera, in front of people you don’t really know and just open up and talk about your life… to be real with your emotions and be so willing to share them.
It was a long productive day for Ferasha Films. And, in spite of the cold and dreary weather we laughed a lot and left the mission feeling excited with our minds reeling full of ideas that will transpire in the near future.
I’ll leave you with photos.
